The Bible tells of a life style that used to be part of the generally American way of thinking, but others believe they have found a better way. In some ways they have a point that their decisions give them more immediate pleasure. However as these decisions accumulate they usually end up paying the price for them in this life time... and definitely in the next. As we look into the Christian perspective, most will find that much of it is plain common sense.
The Bible tells us God created man and woman. The opposition tells us that sex and gender are two different things. That a political group now celebrates those who reject this obvious and God-given situation and they can choose to be anything the want to be – including a seemingly unlimited list of genders, down to mutilating their bodies to simulate the opposite sex.
The Bible tells us the children are a gift from God. The other side tells us that we can throw them away if they will be inconvenient. Some are even extending this self-centered thinking in dealing with the elderly who happen to inconvenience us by their very existence.
The Bible tells us that life itself is a gift from God. We are told by others that when things get too difficult, life is not worth living and you are justified in ending – sometimes even through government sanctioned and sponsored programs.
The Bible tells us that God will meet our needs according to His riches in glory. Those seeking power, tell us they will meet our needs if only we give the authority over our lives and yield to the “wisdom” they alone possess.
The Bible tells us that if someone won't work, they shouldn't eat. There are those who willingly support indolence and dependence on the production of others by taking from those who actually work and perform useful functions in our world. Before some get all upset and ask “what about those who can't work?” That has also been covered as the Bible also tells us that we need to be charitable and take care of such people if their family cannot.
The Bible tells us that influencing our children to recognize their Creator and live according to His precepts as the path to happiness and fulfillment. In many cases, the public schools system seeks to supersede parental duty and authority while indoctrinating the young minds with the collectivist thinking of the atheist political left. We cannot let them guide our children's world view and eternal destination.
The Bible tells us that homosexuality is an abomination to our Creator. The other side tells us it is just an alternate life style and, in many cases, tells us there is no creator to offend in the first place. This thinking is extended into the pollution of young minds by making drag shows available to them and, beyond that, encourage children to participate in such productions.
The Bible's teaching includes what has been called the “cultural mandate”. That is to take dominion over nature and the gifts we have been given to the benefit of all people... that we have a society that people can flourish individually and become everything the Creator intended. The so-called environmentalists worship the creation rather than the creator and believe that we should be secondary to the planet we are living on. Many scientists have begun abandoning the climate crisis mindset and recognizing that there have been many alarmist proclamations that only increased the power of the climate change promoters over the citizens of so many countries. This mandate is not an excuse to abuse the environment but includes a duty to preserve it to the best of our abilities – just as a farmer takes care of his land so it remains productive for him and those that purchase his crops – and hunters and fisherman believe in the conservation of our woodlands and waterways.
There are many other ways we are at odds with much of today's thinking. We understand there are long term – even eternal – consequences to our thinking and actions. All these affronts to our Creator from the political left and neo-conservative right appear to be political policies, but they are so much more than that. They are spiritual attacks to take us away from the future God has planned for those who over come. This is for those who are not enticed by the short term benefits and pleasures that come by following those opponents of the cross. We are here to take a stand, not only for our comforts, but to protect others who may be drawn away by shiny trinkets dangled in front of them if they only would follow the gospel that leads to death.
