Supreme Court backs Hobby Lobby in contraceptive mandate challenge

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that certain "closely held" for-profit businesses
can cite religious objections in order to opt out of a requirement in ObamaCare to
provide free contraceptive coverage for their employees.
The 5-4 decision, in favor of arts-and-crafts chain Hobby Lobby and one other
company, marks the first time the court has ruled that for-profit businesses can
cite religious views under federal law. It also is a blow to a provision of the
Affordable Care Act which President Obama's supporters touted heavily during the
2012 presidential campaign
"Today is a great day for religious liberty," Adele Keim, counsel at The Becket
Fund for Religious Liberty which represented Hobby Lobby, told Fox News.

Fear of Voting Grips Senate Democratic Chiefs

A fear of voting has gripped Democratic leaders in the Senate, slowing the
chamber's modest productivity this election season to a near halt.
With control of the Senate at risk in November, leaders are going to remarkable
lengths to protect endangered Democrats from casting tough votes and to deny
Republicans legislative victories in the midst of the campaign. The phobia means
even bipartisan legislation to boost energy efficiency, manufacturing, sportsmen's
rights and more could be scuttled.
The Senate's masters of process are finding a variety of ways to shut down debate.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., now is requiring an elusive 60-vote
supermajority to deal with amendments to spending bills, instead of the usual simple
majority, a step that makes it much more difficult to put politically sensitive matters
into contention. This was a flip from his approach to Obama administration nominees, when
he decided most could be moved ahead with a straight majority instead of the 60 votes
needed before.

Patriot Pulpits And Liberty Churches Are America’s Only Solution

I am absolutely convinced that the only way we are going to achieve any
semblance of a genuine solution to our country’s ills is to resurrect patriot
pulpits and liberty churches. There is no other solution. The Republican Party is
just as much a part of the problem as is the Democrat Party. Conservatives are as
culpable as are liberals. Christians are as problematic as are unbelievers. If we
do not see a resurrection of patriot pulpits and liberty churches, everything else
is merely a Band-Aid. As the pulpits go, so goes the nation. America’s problem is
not the White House; it is the church house.
I am also aware that what I am doing as the pastor of Liberty Fellowship in
Kalispell, Montana, is way out front of (or outside the box of, however one wants
to say it) the understanding of the vast majority of professing believers. However,
if one would take the time to read the sermons of Colonial pastors such as John
Leland, John Witherspoon, James Caldwell, John Peter Muhlenberg, Elisha Williams,
Charles Chauncy, Jonathan Mayhew, Isaac Backus, Samuel Sherwood, Jacob Cushing,
Samuel Cooper, Samuel Langdon, Enos Hitchcock, Ebenezer Baldwin, etc., one would
discover that my sermons track much closer to their sermons than those one would
hear preached in ninety-five percent of America’s churches today. But, the problem
is the vast majority of today’s pastors and preachers have completely lost sight of
that kind of preaching. The result is, such preaching seems odd--even unbiblical--to
most Christians.

The Supreme Court is expected to decide as early as today whether the government
can force two family businesses, Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties, to
provide employee health plans that cover abortion-inducing drugs and devices.
Countless other faith-based family businesses face devastating fines under
Obamacare if they don’t break their moral and religious convictions and comply with
the same mandate issued by the Department of Health and Human Services.
In his 1961 Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow
Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your
country.” Democrats have perverted Kennedy's inspiring challenge. Their
dispiriting goal is to have as many Americans as possible controlled by and
dependent on government, even for life itself, which is at the root of ObamaCare.
I mourn the loss of the independent, self-reliant mindset that made our parents
great, and of the pride and dignity it generated within them. Welfare (government
assistance) was a last resort and for the truly needy.

McDaniels Loses Primary- Cuccinelli Gets Blamed by Virginia Bloggers??

fellow Virginia blogger who will remain nameless as his foolish and childish
assertion deserves has enlightened us all so we now can place the blame for
McDaniel's loss exactly where it belongs- on the shoulders of Ken Cuccinelli, who
took the helm at Senate Conservatives Fund a couple short weeks ago.
Apparently the race baiting of Thad Cochran who played the race card against
McDaniels for the purpose of angering blacks into voting in the runoff against
McDaniels had nothing to do with the 39% increase in black voter turnout from the
GOP primary to the runoff. Dang that Ken!!.
Apparently the different dynamic from the primary to the runoff, from several
candidates to a head to head match up between two had nothing to do with the outcome. Dang that Ken!!

Admitting To Faith on Resume Reduces Callbacks by 26%

Religious persecution is alive and well in America. Despite the incessant
whining and petulant foot-stomping about discrimination based upon the phony
designation of same-sex “orientation,” it turns out that people of faith are
actually the ones who have something to complain about.
A Gallup poll found that 7 out of 10 Americans identify as very or moderately
religious. Nevertheless, two recent studies have disclosed that religious
identification remains a primary target for employment discrimination. Job
applicants, who make reference to membership in a university-related religious
organizations on their resumes, can experience up to a 26% reduction in callbacks
by prospective employers.
The Washington Times reports:
Scholars with the “Religious Affiliation and Hiring Discrimination” field
experiments, conducted in the South and New England, found that “applicants who
expressed a religious identity were 26 percent less likely to receive a response
from employers.”

Massachusetts Mayor: Stop sending refugees!

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A Massachusetts mayor is calling for an end to
refugee resettlement in his city, saying Somali families are putting pressure on
already strained services in Springfield, a onetime industrial center where nearly
a third of the population lives below the poverty line.
Mayor Domenic Sarno is the latest mayor to decry refugee resettlement, joining
counterparts in New Hampshire in Maine in largely rare tensions with the State
Department, which helps resettle refugees in communities across America.
The mayor is drawing criticism from those who say this country has a moral
obligation to help the outcast and refugees who say they're being scapegoated for
problems the city faced long before their arrival.
"Why not talk about the problems in the city, why not talk about the houses that
are unstable and in bad conditions, why only talk about the Somalis and Somali
Bantus?" Mohammed Abdi, 72, said through an interpreter.

Abu Ammaar Yasir Qadhi, a Memphis Imam based in Tennessee, preaches openly about
what Islam truly is. He makes no bones about thinking that anyone other than a
Muslim doesn't deserve anything and are less than Muslims. In fact, part of Yasir
Qadhi's preaching includes rhetoric that says non-Muslims lives are forfeit and
their property is legal for Muslims to take in jihad, (and this would include women
as sex slaves) Recently Yasir Qadhi said that "Jews and Christians filthy, their
lives and property can be taken in jihad by the Muslims."
Yasir Qadhi is not only a Memphil Imam, but is is also the Dean of Academic
Affairs at the Al-Maghrib Institute. He is a hafiz (has memorized the Qur'an) and
he has an M.A. in the Islamic Creed and a B.A. in Islamic Sciences from Islamic
University of Medina, as well as a master's and a doctorate in Islamic Studies from
Yale.
During a lecture on Shirk, or polytheism, Yasir Qadhi said that Jews and
Christians are mushrikoon, or polytheists, because they have made partners with
Allah. From Yasir Qadhi's perspective, only Muslims are monotheists.

GOP Lawmakers: Get Ready For The $1 Billion Obamacare Insurance Bailout

The chairman of the House Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs
subcommittee said Wednesday that taxpayers could end up bailing out insurance companies to
the tune of $1 billion as a result of Obamacare.
The bailout, argued Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), will result from a
revenue-sharing program set up under Obamacare called the Temporary Risk Corridors
Program. Jordan’s assertions run counter to previous Congressional Budget Office
report that said the program would cost the government nothing.
“The American people have a right to know how much these backdoor bailouts will
cost,†Jordan said. “While I have great respect for the analysts at CBO, their
findings in this area did not square with the evidence presented by numerous health
policy experts.â€

Border Security in Texas

Texas grassroots scored a big policy win last night for Texas’ border security.
Afterstalling for more than two months, House Speaker Joe Straus finally relented
and added his name to a letter authorizing the Department of Public Safety to
commence a border security “surge†operation.
While the Obama Administration has allowed a humanitarian crisis to build on the
border, Texas is going to begin doing something.
But this wouldn’t have happened without the “noise†conservative activists and
legislators were making around the state. Straus, who owes his speakership to the
liberal wing of the Democrat Party, had refused to address the issue until the
people spoke out.
Two months ago, Gov. Rick Perry and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst penned an
authorization letter to allow to DPS to move resources to border security. Under
the law, Straus’ signature was required but he instead sat on it.

political contributions from all – not just its own leftist supporters. Therefore,
the ObamaGov sicked its now wholly-owned IRS on Obama's enemies conservative,

credited with being the scientific father of attention deficit hyperactivity

of a fabricated disease†and treating patients diagnosed with mental diseases with
“pills … could lead to behavioral problemsâ€.
Eisenberg clarified: “The genetic predisposition to ADHD is completely overrated.â€
Regardless of this fact, the diagnosis of ADHD has skyrocketed by 42% between 2003 and 2012.
Psychostimulants are prescribed for children who are diagnosed with ADHD;
however this pharmaceutical increases dopamine levels and stimulates the
neurotransmitter with in the brain that is linked to addiction – which could
increase the possibility of drug abuse later in life.

Predictably, the mainstream media is doing its best to try to depict the couple
who killed three people (including two police officers) in Las Vegas as right-wing
militia-types. No doubt, the Obama administration will try to conjure up more
gun-control. The media is already attempting to link the killers to the brave
citizens who defended the Bundy family a couple of months ago. But the truth is,
the citizen-militia in Bunkerville would not even allow this couple to gain access
to that event, as they were concerned about the couple’s disconcerting propensities.
But, of course, the radical left-wing hate group, the Southern Poverty Law Center
(SPLC), won’t tell you that.
Watch for Eric Holder and the U.S. Justice Department to use the Las Vegas
shootings as an excuse to harass and harangue conservative groups, Tea Party
groups, Second Amendment groups, and Patriot groups. And, of course, the media
will serve in its typical capacity as propagandists against all things conservative.
Furthermore, the administration’s war against freedom-minded people takes on a
chilling dimension when one reads this report:

Will GOP Congressional leaders do their duty?

The Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, Republican Senator Jeff
Sessions, says that, when it comes to enforcing border security and U.S.
immigration laws, Obama “remains committed to escalating—rather than ending—the
lawlessness.†He goes on to claim that “Republicans…are the last bulwark for the
rule of law.†Yet and still the GOP leadership in Congress refuses to implement the
Constitution’s provisions for calling a lawless Executive to account for his
offenses. As I noted in a recent article on my blog (“GOP leaders—a craven of
cowards?â€) their refusal to do so raises trenchant doubts about the outcry against
lawlessness and dereliction being raised by Senator Session and others. Are these
matters as serious as the outraged cries of Obama’s GOP opponents make them out to
be? Or has the outcry against Obama on all these matters been nothing but partisan
posturing, for political effect. Are GOP criticisms the dutiful work of serious
patriots, or deceitful posturing from self-serving politicos who are actually
convinced that Obama has done nothing that deserves a serious response from
Congress or the electorate?
According to the story I discuss in my blog post GOP leaders are afraid that
carrying out their Constitutional duty to call Obama to account will interfere with
their plans for the November election. Apparently they are utterly enthralled by
the self-serving, power mad, Machiavellian political culture they have substituted
for representative government. So, while Obama attacks the security and sovereignty
of the nation, they refuse embark upon the path the Constitution provides, all
because they fear to lose elective offices that, by this dereliction, they degrade
to shameful sinecures. Because they have no sense of the deep betrayal involved in
thus abdicating their sworn duty to God and their fellow citizens, they foolishly
assume it will not disappoint, disgust and anger the very voters their connivance
aims to win. But instead of winning, this self-seeking dereliction may set them up
for a breathtaking defeat. For if the allegations against Obama have merit, common
sense and fairness demand that Constitutional due process be respected. Defaming
Obama from the election stump, while refusing to implement the Constitution’s
provisions for a serious national inquest into his conduct and that of his
collaborators, suggests that the GOP leaders “believe they can only score political
gains in November by lynching Obama from the election stump, because they lack
sufficient evidence and Constitutional justification for the accusations they have
made against him.†Thus, in addition to alienating habitual supporters, disgusted
by their tolerance for Obama’s outrages, reports of the politically motivated fears
of GOP Congressional leaders also lend credence to Obama’s supporters, who contend
that GOP allegations against him are entirely motivated by partisan and/or racial
bigotry.

Unpreaching the Gospel

It's What We're Doing by Staying Silent on Abortion
A recent article in “World†Magazine titled “Still-silent shepherds†summarized
the top reasons evangelical pastors give for not preaching against abortion. Among
them is that “preaching on the issue might politically stigmatize the pastor or
politicize the pulpit, scaring seekers off.â€
Aside from the fact that such reasoning is purely pragmatic—concerned with
results (what works) rather than principle (what's right)—it is also severely
problematic in three of its underlying assumptions:
- One, that pulpits should avoid moral issues with controversial political overtones;
- Two, that silence is justified on issues that may “scare seekers offâ€;
- Three, that ignoring issues like abortion won't adversely impact gospel ministry.
I submit that pulpits operating on these assumptions are undoing the very work they hope
to do. To varying extents, they are “unpreaching†the gospel.

Israel Will Fight Islamists Even if Obama Will Not

The Israelis are ready to go to war against Islamic fascists even if the
United States is not.
The news out of the Middle East reflects how President Obama’s policies have led
to an Islamic terrorist takeover of huge swaths of Syria and Iraq. No nation
watches these events more closely than Israel. On June 6 the chief of the Israeli
Defense Forces, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz cryptically remarked that the IDF is gearing
up to address the growing numbers of terrorist forces on its border with Syria. He
noted Iraq as well for good measure.
When Israel is in the news, it is usually because it is under attack or
responding to one. The only other times have been news of “peace talks†between it
and the Palestinian Authority (PA), but none of those talks over decades has ever
achieved peace because, as the diplomatic community knows, the Palestinians do not
want it.

Brooks Hamby seems to be a pretty successful student — mock-trial star,

school administration reportedly refused to allow him to speak openly about his
faith at his graduation.
That didn’t stop the California high school senior.
“In coming before you today, I presented three drafts of my speech, all of them
denied on account of my desire to share with you my personal thoughts and
inspiration to you: my Christian faith,†Hamby said. “In life, you will be told,
‘No.’ In life you will be told to do things that you have no desire to do. In life,
you will be asked to do things that violate your conscience and desire to do what
is right.â€

charging them. They are remanded to mental health institutions where they are given
"training" on how to view the world.

the victims of the government's kidnapping scheme are veterans.
In the four years since the start of Operation Vigilant Eagle, the government
has steadily ramped up its campaign to “silence†dissidents, especially those with
military backgrounds. Coupled with the DHS’ dual reports on Rightwing and Leftwing
“Extremism,†which broadly define extremists as individuals and groups “that are
mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local
authority, or rejecting government authority entirely,†these tactics have boded
ill for anyone seen as opposing the government.

Border Patrol Agents Threatened With Criminal Charges For Speaking To Reporters

A surge of thousands of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border has
left federal resources and facilities overwhelmed. Most of the new migrants are
children from Central America. In the aftermath of Breitbart Texas releasing photos
showing minors warehoused in crowded U.S. cells, Border Patrol agents in Texas have
been instructed not to speak to media outlets.
The Associated Press (AP) obtained an email from Eligio "Lee" Pena, an assistant
patrol agent, that ordered more than 3,000 agents to not speak to reporters about
the "humanitarian crisis." The email allegedly said that reporters are likely to
press for details and "may try to disguise themselves" in the process."
Pena's email went on to warn agents that they could be disciplined or even
charged with a crime if they speak to media, according to the AP. Since the news of
the spike in foreign minors, Border Patrol contacts--many of whom used to speak on
the record regularly--have not returned numerous phone calls or emails from
Breitbart Texas.

kicking our butt. Worst of all, they are doing it right in our living rooms in front of

providing aid and comfort to the enemy. And if what I have to say offends you, too damn
bad. I am living in a city that puts on display some Muslim radicals; and if you don’t
believe me, you have not been to my neck of the woods.
The balcony from where I write to you each week faces downtown Calgary, Canada,
home to one of the largest Islamic populations in North America. It is also home to
a growing breed of militant terrorists who day upon day are being radicalized within
a city that used to be known as “Cowtown†because of Western pioneer values. Yet in
the heart of cattle country, the Eastern influence has surged over the past decade. It
is impossible to leave one’s door and not pass Muslims. Their ranks are growing annually,
and their radical membership can only be estimated.
As many as 100,000 Muslims live in Calgary, home to North America’s largest
mosque — not seven miles from my door. Most are peaceful, good people. But there
is a minority of radicals whose medieval beliefs are focused on the necessary jihad.

Cantor, viewed as a possible successor to House Speaker John Boehner, was taken
down by a political novice with little money named Dave Brat. His win marked the
biggest triumph this year for tea party supporters who until a few years ago backed
Cantor, a former state legislator who rose to Majority Leader in 2011.
"Eric Cantor's loss tonight is an apocalyptic moment for the GOP establishment,"
said ForAmerica Chairman Brent Bozell, a conservative leader who advises several tea
party groups. "The grassroots is in revolt and marching."

Cop Refuses To Work At Gay Pride Parade In Utah

assignment to work at a gay pride parade.

department spokeswoman Lara Jones.
“We don’t tolerate bias and bigotry in the department, and assignments are
assignments … To allow personal opinion to enter into whether an officer will
take a post is not something that can be tolerated in a police department,â€

Is There A Missing Self-Evident Truth

But doesn’t the language of the Declaration imply another truth? Look at these two sentences:

Scandal-Ridden Massachusetts DCF Agrees To Free Justina

The Connecticut girl kidnapped by the Massachusetts Department of Children and
Families and imprisoned in Boston Children’s Hospital for more than year has been
cleared to return home by the courts. But she has not yet been released, as the
legal system continues to drag its feet.
Last week, Justina’s family and attorneys with the Liberty Council filed a
motion in Juvenile Court requesting she be returned to her parents, Linda and Lou
Pelletier. Massachusetts DCF indicated it would not object to the motion.
In mid-May, Justina was transferred from Massachusetts to a Connecticut facility.
Since then, she has been receiving treatment from Tufts Medical Center, the same place
she received treatment before her kidnapping by the State of Massachusetts in February 2013.

deviant adults to interact with and negatively influence children.
I write this article with great sadness, because every day that goes by means
more vulnerable children are deceived, corrupted and enticed down roads that take
them far, far from their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yet America’s attitude,
even that of the Christian church, seems to be, “Oh, well– as long as they play
the right sports and have lots of friends on Facebook!†But what happens to our
sons and daughters when we don’t confront and expose this danger?
Every time I think of quitting this difficult battle, the Lord gently reminds me
about the children. Libertarians act as if all humans are over the age of eighteen,
but every behavior we tolerate as adults trickles down to impressionable children.
The public debate about “gay rights†often forgets the youngest victims of the
deception and the impact on their unfolding lives. We have to keep trying to expose
the problems presented by homosexual political activism even as we try to rescue
those caught up in this behavior.

NRA Blasts Activists Who Carry Long Guns for 'Shock Value'

The National Rifle Association says activists who carry long guns into
restaurants and similar businesses are hurting the cause.
In a statement on the website of its Institute for Legislative Action, the group
cited two incidents in Texas. The NRA said that standing in line at a fast-food
eatery next to someone with a 7.62 rifle slung across his chest is unusual and also
"downright weird."
"As a result of these hijinx, two popular fast food outlets have recently
requested patrons to keep guns off the premises," the group said. "In other words,
the freedom and goodwill these businesses had previously extended to gun owners has
been curtailed because of the actions of an attention-hungry few who thought only
of themselves and not of those who might be affected by their behavior. To state
the obvious, that's counterproductive for the gun owning community."

Bergdahl prisoner swap: Team Obama more willing to negotiate with terrorists than Congress

Appearing on the Sunday talk shows, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel proclaimed,
“We didn’t negotiate with terrorists,†followed by a disjointed explanation about
how Prisoner of War (POW) exchanges are commonplace and part of long-running U.S.
policy.
However, this interpretation quickly unravels once we look at the facts. At no
point in time were the terrorists detained at Guantanamo classified as POWS, as
Hagel’s comments would imply.

Martial Law Tools In Place

During his campaign, de facto President Barack Obama promised to build a
civilian security force at least as well armed as the military. Lovers of liberty
have feared his intent to declare martial law ever since. Yesterday a report
appeared in a major newspaper, giving the American people fresh reason to fear such
martial law.
Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn issued the final martial law
directive on December 29th, 2010. He did this during the winter holiday season. No
one would be likely to pay attention. Considering what that directive says, he
acted shrewdly indeed.
Directive 3025.18 provides for Defense Support for Civil Authorities, or DS CA.
Most of that support would be of the kind anyone would normally expect. Say a major
fire broke out in a city, and the local fire department could not cope with it. To
have the military help put out this fire would make sense.
But Directive 3025.18 goes further. It says the President may send troops to
quell uprisings. One of two things would have to happen before the President could

performed hundreds of teeth extractions on sailors. She left the Navy and moved to
Arkansas, where she wanted to extract teeth for free at a charity event. But the
state said no.
Even though she is a licensed dentist and an orthodontist, a bizarre law kept
her from volunteering. Arkansas is just one of eight states that ban orthodontists
from performing basic dental services, like cleaning or removing teeth. The law also
prevents another orthodontist, Dr. Ben Burris, from cleaning teeth on the cheap.
But brace yourselves bureaucrats: Dr. Gohl and Dr. Burris teamed up with the
Institute for Justice and are taking the Arkansas Dental Board to court.

Inspector General: EPA Potentially Basing Costly Regulations On Fraudulent Data

President Barack Obama has made no secret his willingness to use the Environmental
Protection Agency to unilaterally impose business-killing regulations aimed at securing

harsh carbon emissions rules affecting coal-fired plants in the U.S., the agency’s
inspector general warns that the EPA may be drawing conclusions about pollution in the
Nation based on fraudulent data.
A report released Thursday by the EPA inspector general contends that officials
in the agency have failed to put protections in place to prevent fraudulent data
from being used to influence EPA regulations.
Fraudulent data, according to the EPA’s definition, can result from outright
fabrication by researchers, calibrating equipment incorrectly, modifying samples
and manipulating analytical results, among other things.

The Age of Mafia Government

feudalism. That’s a system of patronage in which the amount of leverage you have
depends on your wealth and Rolodex. Another way to look at our country’s situation
is by comparing how the Obama administration and its progressive allies operate to
the global and American mafia.
The similarities are striking. Let’s consider a few.
Racketeering And Extortion
At the heart of every mafia enterprise is a racketeering operation, in which
businesses and private citizens are forced to pay the mafia to protect themselves
from harm. Potential harm includes both what The Mob inflicts and that from outside
sources, such as gangs or swindlers. Often, a protection racket arises in areas
where the rule of law is weak, because in those areas the police and judiciary
cannot or will not provide the protection from criminals everyone needs.

I was recently asked this question: “Do you believe that disapproval of
interracial relationships is indicative of hatred or bigotry? Interracial
relationships like homosexual relationships are freely chosen.”
What my interlocutor was really asking is, “Isn’t disapproval of homosexual
relationships analogous to disapproval of interracial relationships,” to which I
would offer a hearty “Are you kidding?”
Disapproval of interracial relationships makes as much sense intellectually and
morally as disapproval of relationships between people who have different eye
colors. Race is a non-behavioral condition. It is as meaningless in terms of
morality as eye color. It would make no more moral sense to disapprove of
interracial relationships than it would to disapprove of relationships between
brown-eyed people and blue-eyed people.
Yes, interracial relationships are as freely chosen as same-sex relationships,
but it is not the act of choosing that determines the moral status of a
relationship. It is the nature of the choice being made that determines its
morality or the irrelevance of moral considerations. My frequent reference to
volition in discussions of homoeroticism is not to argue that the presence of
volition renders an act immoral. Rather, it’s to say that conditions that have no
behavioral implications whatsoever—like race or eye color—are, unlike homoerotic
activity, devoid of moral implications. It is not the mere fact that someone
chooses to engage in sexual activity that renders their sexual activity licit or
illicit. Rather, it is the nature of the sexual activity they choose that
determines its moral status.

ICE And Border Patrol Representatives Tell Congress Illegal Children Are Clearing The Way For Cartels

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told members of Congress
that laws requiring special treatment for young people coming into the United
States illegally have tied up roughly 40 percent of Border Patrol manpower. The
union president told lawmakers that the Barack Obama Administration’s “catch and
release” immigration policies are largely to blame.
“This program is bad policy and encourages people from countries other than
Mexico to enter the United States illegally,” he told the House Judiciary
Committee. “Under this policy, and in most cases, individuals entering the U.S.
illegally know they will be released if apprehended.”

voted no on protecting babies born alive after a failed abortion. From the failed

1. Call for the Presbyterian Mission Agency and member congregations to enter a two-year
season of reflection upon the plight of children unwanted by human society, both born and
not-yet born, and to purposefully seek to enter the pure worship of God by offering aid,
comfort, and the Gospel to those responsible for the care of our most desperate orphans
(including those who survive abortion procedures): parents, siblings, church and community
leaders, and the medical profession.
2. Direct the Moderator of the General Assembly and the Stated Clerk to issue
statements that denounce the practice of killing babies born live following an
abortion procedure, such as was revealed in the Dr. Kermit Gosnell clinic in
Philadelphia.

Economy Collapses in First Quarter, But Growing Again

previously estimated, turning in one of its worst-ever non-recession performances,

The Commerce Department said on Wednesday gross domestic product fell at a 2.9
percent annual rate, the sharpest decline in five years, instead of the 1.0 percent
pace it had reported last month.
"It's a scary report. It sounds worrisome, but keep in mind job growth is running
200,000 each of the last four months, so we aren't just whistling in the dark in our
optimism over the outlook," said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at Bank of
Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in New York.

between themselves and the president, they could do no better than look for help
from the same long-neglected source that has fueled the campaign troubles of
establishment Republicans: the Constitution.

world to work for a living.
He also mentioned Marxists, which might surprise some folks, but it really
shouldn’t. Rushdoony made a cogent statement about Marx, himself, when he said:
“Marx had a religious belief in the power of revolution to create a paradise on
earth. The result of the destruction of the old order would be the birth of a new
order.” A “New World Order?” Actually, yes, which is what today’s well-dressed
Marxists have opted to call what they are trying to do (to us).

prophesy about Iraq. Don't bother looking for the word "Iraq" in your Bible. You
won't find it. You will, however you will find Babylon, which is modern day Iraq.
But don't be confused, the Bible speaks about two Babylons "the physical country
of Iraq and "mystery" Babylon, which is a one world government. For these purposes,
only physical Iraq is being discussed.
The Bible also refers to the Medes and Persians. Persia was Iran and Media consisted of
parts of Iran, Iraq and Turkey (much of the area occupied by the Kurds today). After 549 B.C.,
when Cyrus defeated Media, the area under Persian control remained the most important provinces
of Persia. These ancient countries under their modern names now occupy center stage in the
world of politics.
As with all unfulfilled prophecies, anyone who tells you that they can be
absolutely sure how these prophecies will be fulfilled are either delusional,
ignorantly confident, or a liar. There are many prophecies that can be fulfilled
in a number of ways, including the ones I am about to discuss. So, please
understand that I am only suggesting that perhaps the foundations for these
prophecies are now being set – and that we should start paying attention.

Emails Show Feds Asking Florida Cops to Deceive Judges

Police in Florida have, at the request of the U.S. Marshals Service, been
deliberately deceiving judges and defendants about their use of a controversial
surveillance tool to track suspects, according to newly obtained emails.
At the request of the Marshals Service, the officers using so-called stingrays
have been routinely telling judges, in applications for warrants, that they
obtained knowledge of a suspect’s location from a “confidential source†rather than
disclosing that the information was gleaned using a stingray.
A series of five emails written in April, 2009, were obtained today by the
American Civil Liberties Union showing police officials discussing the deception.
The organization has filed Freedom of Information Act requests with police
departments throughout Florida seeking information about their use of stingrays.

87-year-old mother) to undergo “sensitivity training†until they are proved to be
“rehabilitated†from their religious beliefs. This was because the baker declined
to make a cake for a lesbian parody of a wedding—which would have entailed his
knowing participation in a third party’s act of sin.
Before there was sensitivity training, they’d stuff you into a corrugated
aluminum sweat box in the sun until your mind was right. Then the Soviets came up
with psychiatric hospitals for dissenters. These were considered improvements over
the ancient Roman method, which was to simply kill you if you wouldn’t go along
with Caesar.

former executive tasked with overseeing tax-exemption applications, lost thousands
of emails after her computer crashed. Many of those emails, the tax collection
agency claimed, could not be recovered.
This convenient excuse for failing to comply with a request from House
investigators is not sitting well with some in the journalistic community.

organization, we at the Pro-Life Action League have heard from many, many sidewalk
counselors and prayer paratners over the years who have struggled at one point or
another with a very basic human problem: namely, burnout.
When you take time on a regular basis to stand outside an abortion clinic to offer
help to women, or simply to pray, your goal is clear: you hope that women change their
minds and decide instead to choose life for their baby.
When that happens — and it certainly does happen — it’s nothing short of
amazing, for a child that was scheduled to be killed will now be allowed to live,
and your presence helped to make that happen.

Will Obama Executive Order Protecting LGBT People from Employment Discrimination Respect Religious Liberty?

Some Christian groups are worried that President Barack Obama's forthcoming
executive order guaranteeing the protection of LGBT individuals from employment
discrimination with businesses that have federal contracts may not have sufficient
religious liberty protections.
While the order has not yet been written up, concerns have been leveled by
various individuals that the order might not include a religious exemption and
would force faith-based groups to engage in hiring practices that are in opposition
to the teachings of their faith
"The big question is: will the Executive Order drive out faith-based
organizations out of federal contracting?" Stanley Carlson-Thies, founder and
president of Institutional Religious Freedom Alliance, wrote in an email to
supporters. "The federal government doesn't contract only for aircraft carriers,
janitorial services, and IT expertise. It also contracts for research, consulting,
and technical assistance, and, increasingly, for social services-particularly USAID
and the Bureau of Prisons contract for social services."

Study: Central Banks Have Turned Into Major Stock Buyers

Some financial commentators have complained that central banks have artificially
boosted global stock prices with their massive easing programs.
But a new study from the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum, a
private research group, shows that many central banks are actually putting their
money directly into stocks.
"The buildup of central banking interest in equities is one of the unexpected
consequences of the last few years' fall in interest rates, which has depressed the
returns on central banks' foreign exchange reserves and driven them to find
alternative investment targets, David Marsh, managing director of the Forum, writes
in his MarketWatch column.
And he sees potential danger from the central bank stock buying. It "could
potentially contribute to overheated asset prices," Marsh warns.

What Has Keynes Done To Us

The essential economic problem we confront today is that our dominant Keynesian
intellectuals have abandoned reality. They do not grasp what they have wrought with
the mountainous loads of debt and malinvestment that are overwhelming us. Much of
this burden must be liquidated before genuine demand and growth can be restored,
which will require radical reform if we are to evoke a genuine cure.
To try and solve today’s debt created crisis with more debt (as the Keynesians
are presently doing) can only bring on a bigger bust the next time around, which
will require still larger “debt injections†to stave off a still larger crisis.
Eventually the economic implosion will be so monstrous that it can no longer be
rectified with “corrective debt injections.†Consumers and businesses will have
reached their limit. The Keynesian system will have met its Waterloo. Perhaps this
denouement has already arrived.
This dilemma began because we altered the creation of money in a profoundly
dangerous way with the inception of the Federal Reserve in 1913. Government
expansion of the money supply today does not have to be redeemed in gold as the
banks’ fractional reserve loans were in the nineteenth century. What the Fed does
now is pyramid excessive levels of credit upon totally irredeemable currency. It
can print as much money as it wishes, and banks can loan out nine dollars in credit
for every printed dollar. The Fed has been creating, over the past 100 years, far
more excessive debt than the worst banking systems of the 19th century. This must
end in an eventual collapse.

What Does the Oregon Shooter Tell Us About Our Gun Laws?

KGW News has identified the Oregon shooter. He was just 15 years old. What does
this mean for our public policy? Well, pretty much nothing. Despite all of the
chatter from the White House and beyond, “universal background checks†have
absolutely nothing to do with this case. In Oregon, 15-year-olds are not allowed to
purchase firearms of any sort – whether from stores or from private sources. Last
year’s Toomey-Manchin proposal, which would have mandated checks for all private
sales, would therefore not have applied to this case and could not have stopped
this shooting. To pretend otherwise is downright dishonest.
We also know that the shooter broke a number of other laws. Reports have
suggested that he used a “rifle.†But in Oregon, one is not allowed to “possess†a
long gun until one is 18. The killer wasn’t 18.
His parents did not transfer the firearm to him. Instead, he took it from his
home without permission. In consequence, he was breaking the law. Further, he was
prohibited from carrying a rifle with him in public, and from taking it into his
school. He did both in violation of the law. And, obviously, he was not allowed to
fire it at people or to kill them. He did both. In violation of the law.

not to give labels, but there’s no question we’ve had the trend toward growing

Here’s one of the main reasons that we, the people, are not represented by the
Republican Party. The Washington Post writes that Cantor’s loss in Virginia is bad
for “big businessâ€.
Of course, we’d already known of that linkage for years. GOP Establishment freshman
Senator, Jeff Flake, was a lobbyist before he ran for office. But for those to whom it was
unknown, the US Chamber of Commerce’s recent statement of its intent to fight the Tea Party
removed all doubt.
So what is the GOP’s excuse for the bailouts and pandering to “big businesses�
One thing they tell us is that they are “too big to failâ€. Is that true? I don’t
think so. The nation’s largest employers are small businesses, not big ones.
Putting even that aside, why was it that the big businesses, so important to the
GOP it seems, were set to fail in the first place? Why do most businesses fail?
It’s because they are poorly managed or that their products are no longer in demand
for one reason or another. It could be that their products have become too
expensive relative to alternatives, that they have failed to maintain necessary
quality or that they have simply become obsolete. It’s usually the activities of
much smaller businesses which make products of big businesses obsolete. Heard of
Kodak lately? Digital Equipment Corp.?

The Arrogance of Being Right

No one likes to be criticized…even when that criticism is constructive. People
want to be right and when they are proven wrong, it bugs them. Perhaps part of
their frustration comes from not having known better and thereby having avoided
being wrong in the first place. Liberals are often accused of being in love with
being wrong. They seem to relish in the art of invalid arguments and delusional
conclusions. However, there are many on the Right who respond no less bitterly when
they are proven wrong. It is my firm conviction that if you are always right, you
are doing something wrong. The statement, “No one is perfect†does not come with an
asterisk, “except for me.â€
The United States is now engaged in a battle of ideas (bordering on an outright
civil war), and the left seems to be winning. They are not winning because they
have better ideas but because their ideas have better promotion. Maybe it’s not
even better promotion as much as it is more promotion. So, that means we on the
right must fight harder to have our ideas heard over the clamoring of the left.
It also means that the ideas we on the Right put forward have to be grounded in
facts and never fiction. It means we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard
than that of our opposition. We have to be our best or worst critics…think
constructive critic here. Many on the right are members of the Grand Ole Party, the
Republicans, and many are decrying the takeover of the party by RINO’s. (Republican
In Name Only) However, few have stopped to think how it came to be that so many
moderate or even liberal Republicans came to be in power.

Lou and Linda Pelletier, of West Hartford, Conn., were then accused of "medical
child abuse," which led to Massachusetts officials taking full custody of the girl.
The legal battle that ensued made the case one of the most controversial custody battles
in state history.

Why is the U.S. Government in the Mortgage Loan Business?

It is often truly astonishing to me the harm done by the way the federal
government was expanded well beyond its constitutional limits during the 1930’s New
Deal era. One dramatic example is the government’s role in the housing mortgage
loan marketplace.
I recently read a commentary by Steve Stanck, a research fellow at The Heartland
Institute, a free market think tank, whose title was “Don’t Replace Fannie and
Freddie; End Them.†He began by pointing out that “For every 100 mortgages being
sold in the United States these days, at least 94% of them have government backing.â€
Fannie is shorthand for the Federal National Mortgage Association and Freddie is
short for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. Both are referred to as
“government sponsored enterprises†and Stanck points out that “The housing market
was nearly ruined several years ago, and the government’s involvement is a big
reason†because, before the 2008 financial crisis, both “were bundling mortgages
into mortgage-backed securities and selling them to investorsâ€, primarily banks.

Jurors Hear of Deputies' Attempt to Coerce FBI Agent

Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department sergeants showed up at an FBI agent's
home in September 2011 and told her that they were in the process of obtaining a warrant
for her arrest. That evening, the agent's concerned supervisor called the sergeants,
asking what the charges would be, when the warrant would be issued and whether the sheriff
knew.
After hanging up the phone, Sgt. Maricella Long turned to her partner and said with a chuckle: "They're scared." "You're
still rolling," Sgt. Scott Craig told her, pointing out that the recorder was on.
On Friday, a federal jury hearing the obstruction of justice case against Long,
Craig and four others heard Long admitting in her own words that throughout that
encounter with the FBI, she was lying. She knew there was no warrant coming. She
knew the Sheriff's Department had no authority to investigate a federal agent. She
had no idea whether the sheriff had been briefed about the steps they were taking.

Fed Has 'Overmedicated' the Patient

The Federal Reserve has gone way too far in its massive stimulus program, says
James Grant, editor of Grant's Interest Rate Observer. "First and foremost the
patient is overmedicated — that is, the economic patient," Grant said in an
interview with Forbes Media Chairman Steve Forbes.
"[With] stimulus by the bottleful, by the prescription-fill, gradually (and I
guess not so gradually), the Federal Reserve has moved to substitute price
administration for price discovery," he noted.
While the Fed has curbed its monthly bond purchases to $45 billion from $85
billion last year, its balance sheet has grown to $4.3 trillion. And the central
bank has kept its federal funds rate target at a record low of zero to 0.25 percent
since December 2008.

Letter to Patients†penned by Planned Parenthood’s “Clergy Advocacy Board.†Wow.
It just has to anger you and break your heart at the same time to see the effort
put out by these self-proclaimed “religious leaders†to deceive women.
These sorts of “clerics†are the ones about which Jesus warned us. They come in
sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15).
“[H]ypocrites!†was the charge of Jesus against them, “For you cleanse the outside
of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgenceâ€
(Matthew 23:25). That is exactly right.
Again Jesus: “Woe to you … hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which
indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones,†(Matthew
23:27). How appropriate is that? Dead, unborn babies’ bones in this case. I tell you,
I suspect most women can see right through their false rhetoric, but if these clerics
are successful in deceiving some women, that woman’s error and the life blood of her
unborn little one is on the hands of these “clericsâ€, not only the woman’s. It is why
Jesus said, “It would be better for [them] if a millstone were hung around [their]
neck[s], and were drowned in the depth of the sea,†than to “cause one of these little
ones who believe in Me to sin†(Matthew 18:6). And that is exactly what they are doing
— encouraging sin.

Colorado Commission Rules Discrimination Against Christians is Okay

In Colorado a battle has been brewing between a gay couple and a small bakery.
Jack Phillips owns Masterpiece Cakeshop in the Denver suburbs. He also happens to be a
devout Christian who has certain religious beliefs about homosexuality and gay marriage in
particular. The gay couple, Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig, are seeking to force Phillips to
violate his religious beliefs and his conscience because they believe their desire is more
important than his freedom.
Well, Colorado’s Civil Rights Commission agrees with them: Colorado's Civil
Rights Commission on Friday ordered a baker to make wedding cakes for same-sex
couples, finding his religious objections to the practice did not trump the state's
anti-discrimination statutes.

Imagine having your teenager emerge from a U.S. history course with only a vague
recognition of the name “George Washington.†Suppose that course mentioned the
father of our country with reference to only one speech – no discussion of his
military leadership and triumphs, his personal sacrifice to accept the call to
become the first President, or his wise and steady leadership during the tumultuous
first years of our nation.
To put this into perspective, imagine how South Africans would respond if an
unelected agency issued a history of their country that contained just one
reference to Nelson Mandela.
Beginning in August, such a course will be offered to 500,000 of America’s most
talented high-school sophomores and juniors – the College Board’s new AP U.S.
History Framework. The new College Board Framework will replace the traditional
5-page topical outline with a 98-page document that dictates how teachers should
cover the required topics. George Washington gets one brief mention; other founders,
such as Benjamin Franklin and James Madison, none. The Declaration of Independence is
eferred to in passing in one clause of one sentence.

Irish Pastor Under "Hate Crime" Investigation for Sunday Sermon Against Islam

BELFAST, Northern Ireland: A 75-year-old Irish preacher was subjected to a
police probe after he condemned Islam in a sermon and was accused of "hate
mongering."
James McConnell, pastor of the Whitewell Metropolitan Church in North Belfast,
Ireland, discussed the religion of Islam during an evening sermon on Sunday, May
18th. During the sermon, McConnell denounced Islam and said the contrast between it
and Christianity is stark.
"The God we worship and serve this evening is not Allah," he proclaimed,
according to a video of his sermon. "The Muslim god 'Allah'is a heathen deity.
Allah is a cruel deity. Allah is a demon deity."
McConnell then criticized the "foolish" British government for attempting to
appease Muslims financially, saying Islam is "a doctrine spawned in hell." He also
noted that Christians around the world are persecuted for their faith by the
"fanatical worshipers" of Allah.
